Disable the screen from turning off when the call connects

One thing that annoyed me a lot on the HTC Touch Diamond (And I guess the same thing is with the HTC Touch Pro )was the display switching off when the call connected. I tried different configuration programs like the
Diamond Hacks and other but there was no on/off or enable/disable setting available in all of them. Then I tried
Diamond Tweak. I installed it on the Touch Diamond and when I opened it the first setting under the Call settings was Fast Sleep (1.1 Fast Sleep - Enable or disable the device going to sleep quickly when making a call...). Set this to Disabled (Advised). This changes the registry key:
HKEY_Local_Machine\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall from 1 to 0 which disables the Fast sleep and turning of the display. This alone will not change much. In order to disable the screen from going to sleep when the call connects you will have to set a few more settings...
Find the Light Sensor settings (1.3 Light Sensor - Switch ON or OFF - Advised the front light sensor during a phone call...) and change it to OFF.
Soft reset your HTC Touch Diamond device and when the device boots up try if the screen turns off during calls. If it still does, go to Start > Settings > System -> Power -> Backlight and uncheck the "Auto adjust backlight" and "Dim the backlight if the device is locked" settings and try again.
I have tested this settings on my
HTC Touch Diamond and they seamed to work just fine. The screen dims but it does not turn of during the call.
