Sometimes it really annoys me when the phone tries to connect to the Internet through GPRS and not Wi-Fi when there is a network available and I just forgot to turn the Wi-Fi on. For a while a have been searching for a way to disable the GPRS auto connect and I found it. There are two ways to disable the auto connect option on your Windows Mobile phone. The first one is to install the
"Advanced Configuration Tool for Windows Mobile" on your device open it and expand the "Data Connections" tab. Under it you will find the option "GPRS Auto Attach: Enabled", click on it and change it to "Disabled". Click done and close the "Advanced Configuration Tool". To enable it simply do the same procedure but change the setting to "Enabled". The other way is to download a small .cab file that will disable the GPRS auto connect feature but in order to enable it you will need to do the procedure we described above with the Advanced Configuration Tool. The cab only disables the auto connect option and does not provide any way to turn it on again.
